Spring Backpacking

The spring backpacking trip will be on May 14th and 15th.

Bring a bag lunch with a beverage for Saturday. This will be a dry campout; all Scouts should carry 3 liters of water.

Sturdy hiking boots are required. Use the troop backpacking packing list. We will stop for a fast-food lunch on our way back.

Bike Hike

The troop bike hike will be from April 22nd to 24th.

Winter Backpacking

The winter backpacking trip will be on March 12th and 13th.

Bring a bag lunch with a beverage for Saturday.  This will be a dry campout; all Scouts should carry 3 liters of water.

Klondike Derby

Troop 773 will be attending the Klondike Derby from February 25th to 27th.  The Klondike Derby is a two-night winter camping event and competition where patrols solve problems using their scout skills, scouting spirit, and teamwork, all while having fun in the cold. Refer to the Klondike Derby Packet attached for more information.

Ski Trip

The Troop ski trip will be at a local ski resort on January 7th.

Day Hike Campout

The December campout will be car camping with a day hike.  Scouts should pack for winter camping and bring a bagged lunch.

Wilderness Survival Merit Badge Campout

The troop held a Wilderness Survival Merit Badge campout in November. Scouts participated in fire building, water purification, shelter building, first aid, and wilderness survival skills.

Fall Backpacking

The fall backpacking trip will be from Saturday, October 2nd to Sunday, October 3rd.  Bring a bag lunch with a beverage for Saturday.  This will be a dry campout; all Scouts should carry 3 liters of water.

Masks and social distancing will be practiced on this campout.

Whitewater Canoeing

Our September campout will be whitewater canoeing on the Potomac River on Saturday, September 18th, and Sunday, September 19th. Our canoe trip is expected to last 3 hours.

Our canoe trip starts at 11 am. Scouts should bring a bag lunch for Saturday. Patrol will cook dinner and breakfast.

This trip is open to Scouts and chaperones that can swim. A current (past 12 months) BSA swim test is required for Scouts and chaperones.

Goshen

Troop 773 is attending Goshen Scout Reservation.  Goshen is fun for all Scouts.  Scouts may enjoy outdoor summer activities in the scenic Goshen camp such as swimming, boating, and hiking while earning merit badges required for advancement to higher ranks within Scouting BSA.  First Year Scouts will participate in the Bowman Brigade program.  Older Scouts may participate in the Bowman Vets program or the Goshen ATV program (16 or older).  The Scoutmasters encourage all scouts to attend Goshen.  Scouts register with the troop to attend Goshen.  See troop emails for details.
